Songdo Air Cruise

Commissioning and Training

Songdo Air Cruise

Busan, South Korea

Upon completion of the new Songdo Marina Air Cruise, a 1.5km long 10 MGD spanning over Songdo Bay in Busan, CCS was hired to commission the installation before public opening in Summer 2017, and to provide essential ropeway recovery training.

Commissioning of the installation required the inspection and testing of all components and devices of the installation and adjustment of the operational parameters to ensure a safe and smooth operation for passengers. Once the construction team had completed their job, this start up procedure, that usually lasts between two and three weeks, verified every parameter, allowing the ropeway to go live.

Subsequent to the commissioning and with safety in mind, CCS was requested to train the personnel of Songdo Air Cruise in the use of the specialty tools and procedures to recover the ropeway from faults, technical or operational issues, to ensure that even in the event of a disturbance to normal operation, all passengers arrive safely at their terminals, with the minimum possible inconvenience. Training included solving both common operational issues and most unusual ones, such as derailment recovery.

Once commissioned and trained, Songdo Air Cruise was given all the relevant statutory green lights to open to public.
