Southern Poland 7 Ski Areas

technical and economical due diligence

Southern Poland 7 Ski Areas

Multiple across Southern Poland

As part of a national strategy to recover control of assets of national interest within Poland, the PFR retained CCS to perform a Due Diligence evaluation of the assets in question, stretching across 7 different ski areas in 5 locations in southern Poland: Gora Zar, Mosorny Gron, Kasprowy Wierch, Gubalowka, Palenica, Jaworzyna Krynicka i Gora Parkowa.
CCS was hired to perform a complete asset review: current state of the infrastructures, state of maintenance, safety verification, general organization and improvement potential, overall development potential for each resort, costs verification and finally provide a sale valuation.

A total of 25 ropeways were assessed: 2 reversible aerial trams, 3 funiculars, 1 detachable gondola, 1 detachable chairlift, 6 fixed grip chairlifts and 12 drag lifts. It was a challenging job due to some technologies being museum pieces from the 1930s through 1960s, in combination with some of the most modern ropeways barely a few years old, from all manufacturers, existing and long gone. A proof that good maintenance goes a long way to keep infrastructures in good condition for many years.

Subsequent to the completion of the Due Diligence and after other internal studies and decisions, the PFR decided to proceed and prepared a successful bid. The 7 ski areas are now under ownership and management of the PFR and CCS wishes them well.
